Description
Chloe May, 24, from the Agar Nook area of Coalville, claimed in July 2023 that she had been attacked in a hotel in the Loughborough area. A full investigation was launched by Leicestershire Police, which resulted in the arrest of three individuals and significant resources being deployed to investigate the allegation.
As inquiries progressed, detectives identified serious inconsistencies between May’s account, the statements given by those she had accused, and the available evidence. CCTV footage ultimately confirmed that her version of events was untrue.
Once this was established, the three wrongly accused individuals were released from their bail conditions. May later pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice.
She was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment, as confirmed by Leicestershire Police.
